Agenda for Change

Agenda for Change sets out the terms and conditons for all staff working in the NHS (except Medical & Dental staff and Very Senior Managers). The system means fair and consistent treatment for all staff groups, and provides harmonised conditons of service, as well as better recognition of skills and competencies. Benefits include:

  • annual personal development reviews to support career aspirations

Salary information

Everyone who joins the NHS is guaranteed a salary that matches their ability and responsibilities, and given every opportunity to increase it through training and development. Staff will be paid in accordance with the pay bands, as set under Agenda for Change (except medical and dental staff and very senior managers).

Annual leave

Staff will receive the following annual leave entitlements per annum pro rata.

Length of service Annual Leave + General Public Holidays
Under 5 years service 27 days + 8 days
After 5 years service 29 days + 8 days
After 10 years service 33 days + 8 days

NHS Pension Scheme

The NHS Pension Scheme is recognised as one of the best occupational pension schemes available. All NHS employees are entitled to join the NHS Pension Scheme at a contributory rate of between 6% and 8.5% of their salary; the Trust will also contribute 14%. NHS Discounts

All staff working for the NHS are able to take advantage of the NHS Discounts scheme, which gives discounts on a wide range of products and activities, from family days out to hotel bookings, and more.
