A commissioning service for Peter Blackshire, the Trust’s Co-ordinating Chaplain was held yesterday in the Post Graduate Centre, Wexham Park Hospital.
The ceremony, which focused on the induction of Peter into his new role, was led by the Bishop of Buckinghamshire, and included prayers, songs and hymns
Guests were welcomed to the service by Chris Langley, Chairman, and local M.P. Fiona Mactaggart, and the Mayor for Slough, Joginder Singh Bal, welcomed Peter on behalf of the local community. The trust’s Palliative Care Team also spoke about how the chaplaincy team supports them in caring for terminally ill patients.
The occasion gave Peter the opportunity to meet many of the local ministers and religious leaders and brought together the many faiths of our community.
Following the service a 10 piece orchestra, who gave their time voluntarily to support the occasion, played while refreshments were served.
