We welcome patients’ and carers’ views on our services to help us meet patients' needs.

How to have your say!

A randomised selection of patients are contacted every year by an independent survey company to find out how we are doing and help us to improve our services to patients and visitors. The survey results are published annually and help to inform our objectives.

We also run bedside surveys with patients during their stay with us - this allows patients to talk through their experiences and raise any matters or issues that are pertinent to them.

We encourage all patients to keep in touch and let us know how we are doing. Many patients send cards or letters after they have been discharged home, to the team that cared for them. Other patients use this website to submit a comment or feedback. Others use the PALS service to raise comments. We are well connected to local advocacy groups and can provide advocacy arrangements for any patient who requests it.

If you feel that you would like to get involved on an ongoing basis, why not consider joining our Representative Patient group? This group of patients meets at the Trust regularly and takes part in patient initiatives and projects that will improve the patient environment and the patient journey. Complaints

Unfortunately, there may be times when our service is not as good as it should be. In those circumstances we need to know so that we can put things right. Please ask to speak to the nurse in charge of your ward if you have a problem. She will try to resolve the problem on the spot. If you are dissatisfied with this response, you can ask to speak to the surgical matron.
