Introduction to Outpatient Services

We are a dedicated team whose main purpose is to ensure our patient experience is positive, safe and effective.

• Currently we have 169 consultants working within the Trust, who cover a wide range of disciplines.
• Each year in outpatients we see approximately 86, 412 new and 173,005 follow ups.
• The Patient Appointment Centre answers, on average, 3,000 calls a week.

18 Weeks Target

You have the right for any non-emergency treatment to start within a maximum of 18 weeks, or for the NHS to take all reasonable steps to offer you a range of alternatives if this is not possible.

Choose and Book

All patients have the right to choose which hospital provider they are referred to by their GP. This legal right, which was introduced in April 2009, lets patients choose from any hospital provider in England offering a suitable treatment that meets NHS standards and costs.
