As Chairman of the Trust, Chris's role involves chairing both the Board of Directors and the Council of Governors.

The Chairman's Responsibilities

Leadership of the Board of Directors and Council of Governors, ensuring their effectiveness on all aspects of their roles.

Ensuring the provision of accurate, timely and clear information to Directors and Governors.

Arranging the regular evaluation of the performance of the Board of Directors and Council of Governors, their committees and individual Directors, and

Facilitating the effective contribution of Non Executive Directors and ensuring constructive relations between Directors and Governors.

Background

Chris was Senior Non-Executive Director at the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, where he was Chair of the patient Safety and Quality Committee, chair of the Remuneration Committee, and member of the Finance Committee.

He has 27 years experience in the private sector gained in high profile customer-facing businesses. He is an experienced leader with significant board level experience in private companies and the NHS. He has expertise in performance management, change management, turnaround and strategic review.
